Very Few Updates

I know I haven't posted anything in this blog for several weeks now. I've just been busy or distracted with other stuffs that I was not able to focus on my books.

I'm back on that "lazy mode" again. I dunno when will I be able to write Chronos Arcanum with as much speed and gusto as I did on The Glacial Tempest.

Anyway, here's something for you, readers:

My cousin already submitted her final drawing of Erin, and I just recently edited it to be TGT's book cover.

What do you think, guys? Does it look eye-catching enough? *grins*

Going back, I'm more than halfway through proofreading TGT, so I'm nearing its true completion.

I hope I finish it by the end of this year. Ha ha. Yes, yes, I know.

I will post here again if I encounter anything interesting regarding the book series, or if I have finally finished writing CA Chapter 1.

Well, good luck with all of us! I hope you enjoyed reading my stories.

Chronos Arcanum!

Well, my artist likes to take her sweet time with the cover drawing for The Glacial Tempest. *shrug* So I guess I might not be able to show it to you any time soon.

Anyway, for the main topic, Chronos Arcanum! I have completed the prologue, and was planning on posting it here after I finish chapter 1, but inevitable delays prevent me from finishing the chapter as quickly as I hoped, so I'm going to post the prologue here now~

You can find the link on the right side of the blog. *thumbs up* Hope you guys enjoy it, it's over 9000! The word count, that is. Heh.

My very first written creation for this book series was actually the Chronos Arcanum prologue. I first wrote it when I was in high school, several years ago. However, since I was a young boy back then, and I didn't have enough creativity to write a whole book, I stopped writing after the prologue. What I did mostly was change and refine the prologue over and over again! But I never moved past it.

Eventually, I managed to write chapter 1! Unfortunately, I was too young to have thought of the concept "backup", so when my computer had to be reformatted, I lost all of my works! It was a good thing I posted the prologue in my Facebook account (on My Notes) before, although it was not the updated and refined version. Nevertheless, I'm glad I still have a remnant of my story.

Now, when I finally finished writing The Glacial Tempest, I prepared myself to go back to the book that started it all....

It was so funny, looking back, and seeing that there were still so many grammatical errors on my work even with all the "refining" and such! And another funny thing, I have changed so many major concepts when I was writing The Glacial Tempest that when I read Chronos Arcanum once more, half of it was now off-course. *laughs*

Well, after yet another set of renovations, here it is! I'm halfway through chapter 1, and the prologue is yours to enjoy and/or criticize. *grins*

TAKE NOTE, however, that The Glacial Tempest is the prequel of Chronos Arcanum, so the latter uses some of the elements in the former. Understand that when you read the CA prologue, you might get a small glimpse (or spoiler) on how Erin's story ended.

NOTE: My first real written creation was actually an unfinished novel called "Scarlet (something)", which was about a blood-red gem that contained all essence of evil. I forgot the whole title, or if it was actually just Scarlet. Meh. I only managed to write two chapters of it, too, before I lost it from yet another reformatting. I didn't write for more than a year after that, and when I started writing again, I already had a whole new story: the Chronos Arcanum. I wrote Scarlet (something) when I was thirteen years old, I think? Give or take a year.

The Glacial Tempest has been... finally completed!

Long have I dreamed for the day when I rename the word document of my compiled finished chapters into "The Glacial Tempest (Manuscript)", and I finally have!

I have just finished writing and proofreading the epilogue midnight before June 8th.

It took me more than half a year to write this book, and I have finally completed it! I have never had a project this big that I followed through, and the feeling I got from this accomplishment was sheer pleasure.

Let me give you something to help imagine how thick The Glacial Tempest is:
- It's over 82,000 words!
- If a chapter ends, the next chapter automatically skips to the next page, so there are some pages that are not completely filled with words. Anyway, with the format Times New Roman size 12 and no line spacing, the manuscript contains 152 short bond paper pages! That's a lot of pages. Heh.

Tomorrow, I shall print the first ever full draft of this book! The draft, however, would only be exclusive to me--I'll be using the draft to proofread the story one last time before making it an official manuscript. After that, I shall print more copies for friends and relatives to receive their views on my story.

While that happens, I'm going to start on my next project:
The Chronicles of the Dark Arcanist: Chronos Arcanum
- That's actually the first book of the series. *laughs* And now that I have a firm concept from which the elements of the other books will stem from, I will have a steady storyline throughout all my books! This is a big goal, and I am willing to reach it.

I still have one last freebie for you guys, but I still have to wait for it to be completed.
Unfortunately, it's not TGT - Chapter 5. The preview stops on chapter 4. I'm sorry~

TGT is going to cost me and arm (not a leg) to print, I'm sure, but I guess it's all worth it!

Once again, thank you for reading my ramblings. I hope this story gets far, just for the sake of immortalizing my characters and my world. =)

TGT - Chapter 12 (previously chapter 11) Completed!

First, a short explanation: after writing the storyline of Chapter 11: Ayden Cross of Renizen, I have noticed that it's better suited between chapters "Her Curse and Her Redemption" and "Erin's Last Stand". So I have decided to place it as the twelfth chapter instead. From now on I shall refer to this chapter as chapter 12.

So yeah, I have finally finished chapter 12! *cheers*

And you know what's very surprising about this chapter? I initially thought that it would not reach the original chapter goal of at least 5,500 words. Instead, it has reached over a whopping 6,200 words! That's  insanely awesome, I'm telling you!

I have finished its initial proofreading, but it still needs a final proofreading, along with chapters 13 and 14 to make sure chapter 11's storyline is on par with the others.

Now, my... final... target... is the short epilogue. After that... it's all over. The book's completed! This is so fun; months of mind-grinding writing has finally paid off. One more "chapter", and it's all over. So fun! *sighs happily*

To share my enthusiasm, I have already posted the promised Chapter 4: Love to Hatred Turned on the upper right side of this blog! Enjoy reading!

NOTE: I shall begin the epilogue either tomorrow or once I finish proofreading. Maybe tomorrow. I dunno. Thank you, and good night~!

Another TGT - Chapter 11 Progress Report!

That was a pleasant surprise! An extension of the side plot that I have recently thought of enabled to increase the thickness of chapter 11 significantly more that I would have expected.

More good news; although I have not yet finished writing chapter 11 (I haven't even gotten to around half of it), what I have already written on it has already exceeded my whole book's 78,000 words target goal! Awesome! Now I can write the rest of the book with no worries in terms of length.

So nice... so nice.

As a treat, I'm going to put TGT Chapter 4 up on this blog after I finish chapter 11, not after chapter 11 and the epilogue.

Thank you for reading my ramblings! Heh.

TGT - Chapter 11 Progress~

I have foreseen that chapter 11 would also not reach its original goal of 5,500 words, but that's quite fine! I have enough side plot for chapter 11 to reach the whole book's 78,000-word goal. Hurray!

If I'm going to write tomorrow, I might actually finish chapter 11 then. Plus another day for the epilogue, and... *gasps* I'm finally done. D-O-N-E.

The book that took me oh so long to write is finally coming to a close! Never have I had a project as big as this that I have actually finished!

No... wait... technically, I still haven't finished with The Glacial Tempest, so, I guess I should not start celebrating for something that I have not yet actually achieved. *sheepish grin*

I'll keep you ghosts--I mean guys and gals--updated. *nods*

TGT - Chapter 14 Completed!

The last chapter of my book The Glacial Tempest has been finally completed!

Although, it was disappointingly shorter than the other chapters--only 3,700+ words long.

Nevertheless, the ending has been set, and what remains are chapter 11 and the epilogue.

Also, I just finished enrolling for the next semester, which starts on June 13th. I might be able to finish this book by then. And by finish I mean the content; I would still have to read the whole book all over again for proofreading, and then hire a (slightly affordable, if not cheap) professional proofreader to go over the whole book for mistakes I might have missed.

Well, better get started with the unwritten chapters, then! Thanks for reading my ramblings. Wish me luck?

NOTE: I shall post TGT Chapter 4 on this blog once I finish chapter 11 and the epilogue, which hopefully might be before school starts on the thirteenth. *thumbs up*

TGT - Chapter 13 Completed!

It has been yet another grueling week, but the result was definitely worth it!

I have finally finished Chapter 13: Erin's Last Stand, although it still has to go through several proofreading sessions. *laughs* Nevertheless, it's essentially done--plus, it's over 6,300 words long! 800 words beyond the minimum. Woot!

I'm still worried, though, if I have written this chapter beautifully enough, if I could capture the exact tension and emotions that I was hoping for the readers to feel while reading through this part. Oh, well, I guess that's what a control group is for, anyway! I'll just wait for the initial readers' comments regarding the story, and then improve upon it according to their whims. Heh.

As promised, Chapter 3: Into the Tundra is now posted on this blog! Take note, by the way, that this is not professional writing, and my works shall always be prone to grammatical errors and such.

So yea, without further ado, happy reading!

TGT - Chapter 12 Completed!

Hurray!

Well, I've only finished the main content of chapter 12 and its initial proofreading--I still have to heavily modify it as I read it again... maybe tomorrow?

Nevertheless, after that, off to chapter 13! It's the highest point of the story--the climax!

That sounds so wrong.... Anyway, three chapters (plus short epilogue) left!

I shall post TGT Chapter 3 after I finish writing chapter 13, which I might possibly be able to finish before the end of May 2013 if I don't get delayed by something else. *nods*

NOTE: If there are any grammatical errors in this post, please say so; I'm actually sleepy from finishing chapter 13. It was quite draining. *laughs*

A Temporary Detour *grins*

Just a small update: I have decided to write chapter 12 first before chapter 11, since the continuation of chapter 10 is, well, 12. Heh.

I might possibly finish epilogue/chapter 14 first before writing chapter 11, but it would depend on whether I would finally know how chapter 11 should go or not.

Nevertheless, my target is to write something everyday, so I suppose it doesn't matter which chapter I write first, as long as my percentage quota is still being met.

On a side note, I'm going to add TGT - Chapter 2 in this blog! Yay! The link is on the control panel on the right. *thumbs up*

Happy reading!

TGT - Chapter 10 Completed!

I just finished writing The Glacial Tempest Chapter 10! *cheers*

After the initial proofreading, the chapter reached over 6,000 words--which was more than what I expected.
According to my change log, it apparently took me ten days to finish chapter 10, which I suppose is quite good enough.

Although, tomorrow I will still have to read the chapter one more time as my final proofreading before moving on to chapter 11, which is about Ayden Cross, the Dem-Aungel mentioned in the prologue. *grins*

So, yeah, four chapters left! I hope I would still have this much free time for writing until I at least finish The Glacial Tempest. To anyone who's actually reading this, wish me luck. *thumbs up*

Just a Little Update

I'm over halfway through chapter 10 of The Glacial Tempest. Woot!
Although I'm sort of slowing down, but only for a little bit--my original plan of finishing this chapter before May 10 is still possible.

You know, guys, you are all more than welcome to leave comments on my blog! It would be nice to know if there are actually people who're paying attention to my ramblings. *grins*

The Glacial Tempest has 14 planned chapters, excluding a short prologue and epilogue. Each of the 14 chapters will have at least 5,500 words, for a total of over a whooping 77,000 words for the whole book!

EDIT: If anyone posts a comment on my blog, I'll post chapter 2 of The Glacial Tempest once I've finished chapter 10.

A Short Preview of The Glacial Tempest

Artwork by Jessamyne Ado

I suddenly wondered--why make a blog for a book without a preview of the book itself? It's like setting up a stage concert without the actual singer showing up.

So here's a link to the prologue and chapter 1 of "The Glacial Tempest"!

The Glacial Tempest - PROLOGUE: Hell's Revenge (645 words)
The Glacial Tempest - CHAPTER 1: The Prodigy (6971 words)

Unfortunately, I cannot share everything that I have written in here, since it's supposed to be exclusive, until at least it's finally finished.

And I guarantee that no matter what happens to me, as long as I don't get killed or horribly incapacitated, I'll be able to finish the book at most before the end of 2013. I could have it finished before August 2013, but then again, we can never tell.

My First Post: the Start of a New Day!

Hello, everyone! I'm Christian Estefani, a 20-year-old student from the Philippines. I am an aspiring writer--in fact, I have dreamed of writing and publishing my own book ever since I was in high school a few years back.

Now, I've kick-started my dream, and am now writing my first book!

Funnily enough, the book I am currently writing on is actually the third of its series. "The Chronicles of the Dark Arcanist" is a story of a young boy, Firan Kenzato, and his adventures as he saves the world Eaglehart, from which he was the apparent true protector. It sounds like a cliche, I know, but it's more interesting than it sounds, I think. *laughs* The series will span four books--or that is the original plan, at least.

The third book, "The Glacial Tempest", is a different book from the other three; it's about Firan's ancestor Erin, 500 years ago, who fell from grace as she unintentionally tried to destroy the world she fought so hard to protect. I'm starting on this one because there are some elements in the first book that stemmed from the elements on this book.

So yea,  I shall be checking in on this blog as often as I can, and entertain anyone who would like to ask anything about my story. I shall be posting my progress here, too, if anyone would be interested with that as well. *grins*

Thanks for reading my post!
